Home Feeding for the Children

I am Catherine, 14 years old, l am living with Eva for four years, together with one sister and three brothers. I successfully finished my Primary school in March 2020 and I am now a senior 1 student. Normally I would spend ¾ of the year in a boarding school, but because of Corona, all schools were closed since approx. 17 months ago. We have been at home helping Eva with the Mission for Disability work.
Hundreds of children like me are staying at home which adds a lot of pressure and requirements to their parents to buy food and other needs.
About 2 months ago, we started helping Eva give out sweets to eight to ten children in our neighborhood. As you know, children like sweets. So they went on increasing in numbers and right now, we have 200 to 300 children to serve. As the food situation in Uganda is very serious, we started to give them something else which can satisfy them more than sweets and biscuits. So we added bread and few other items. Every week, Mondays and Fridays give away biscuits and long burns to each child.
We are still thinking about what else we can give them. Mission for Disability was already supporting the families with posho and beans, therefore the new children’s activity must fit in the budget.
Whenever my siblings and I are giving the Village children something, we also remember the days when we were young and had to face similar situations. That’s why we love helping Eva to serve them and to see them smile. I learn from Eva to always help the people in need.
Dear supporters of our work, we really thank you for your donations. Without your support, we couldn’t manage it.
With your help and our faith and hope in Jesus’s help, we manage to pass through many difficult situations.
Thank you and may God bless and protect you.
Yours Catherine
