Among 305 patients who were examined by Ophthalmologist during the medical camp 50 cases were found which needed cataract surgery. These patients have been operated in the Eye Camp on 10th ~ 14th February.
The Korean Ophthalmologist, Dr. Bae, could operate the patients very well in cooperation with OCO (Ophthalmic Clinical Officers) and Nursing staff who are working at the Eye Clinic in Masafu Hospital. Patients who needed further examination and treatment to were referred to the Tororo Eye Hospital.
It was truly an intense experience to watch how people, suffering from hardship, poverty and illness, develop hope and in such a short time “change” are open to listening and to understand the possibilities, instructions, advices. All of this was and is only possible through the love of our Lord Jesus Christ who says in Matthew 25:40,
And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.
